Community & communication were the buzz words this week as we kicked-off the #StrategicWorkingGroups(SWG) on Tuesday .

Over 80 important stakeholders of the national ecosystem joined forces online, on the same MIRO board, to lay the foundation of the next Romanian Startup Ecosystem Strategy: Startup Founders, Business Angels, VCs, Academic & Public sectors (including RDAs, GSG & dedicated Ministries) and, of course, the European Commission and the World Bank.

In the first session we mapped the needs and challenges of the Romanian Startup Ecosystem and we challenged ourselves to think big for the future by creating 5 to 10 years projections of how our country’s ecosystem should become, how it should transform into a beautiful

On Friday’s 2nd session we continued with parallel breakouts on the 7 main pillars, where each group worked on a SWOT analysis, as well as the vision & values of the Romanian Startup Ecosystem per each pillar. The SWG Process was designed by the World Bank and Agentia pentru Dezvoltare Regionala Nord-Est (Rubik Hub)teams, using design thinking concepts applied on policy making and strategic planning.

The community proved again that joining forces can lead to great outcomes,… and even though the process is on-going and there is a lot more work to be done, we thank everyone for giving before getting,.. as ROStartup is indeed a project of the community for the community.
